Momentary Detachment
We experience many different things on a daily basis. Unfortunately, one thing that stays constant is our attention towards technology. Not that it is a bad thing, its the sole reason our species has gotten where we are. However, it made us less sociable and less attentive to ourselves.
Personally, I would admit that although I don't really spend that much time on my phone but the amount of hours logged onto my computer. It's a statistically unhealthy towards the extreme spectrum. That is exactly what I'm blaming all my weight gain on and why I am unable to stick to a proper workout routine.
This is where anyone can find me sitting down for more than 1/3 of the entire day. Whats worse is that my treadmill is situated not 5 steps further away from me. Turns out, proximity and convenience do not always drive motivation.
I often sleep at 5 A.M. in the morning and waking up 4 hours later to attend classes or to meet up with my girlfriend. It always result in me sleeping in class and feeling miserable. Regardless of the countless times I would say, "Tonight is the night, I'm sleeping early". I would blink and it is already 5 A.M.
After some sleepy shower times and a long self reflection, I know that the reason for these are all the technology that surrounds me. That said, perhaps what I really need in life is a Momentary Detachment.
Why don't we take some time away from all the hustle and bustle and leave everything behind for even a moment? Maybe it gives us a sense of comfort in this constant struggle. Maybe we just lack initiative.
That is why over the next 8 weeks, I will be travelling to the places we often see on our Facebook pages, suggesting the beautiful places within Malaysia that we often miss. Out of the 4 locations, the Melaka Sand Dunes of Pantai Klebang would be the first place I will be heading out to visit.
